Washington Opera Society Inc

The organization produces Opera and operetta with orchestral accompaniments for audiences in the Washington, dc metropolitan area. These productions are staged at embassies, ambassadorial residences and hotels and offer the organization's audience the experience of enjoying professional Opera/operetta in an intimate, salon setting, representative of the venues on which the Opera genre originally evolved. As part of its mission, the organization seeks to offer emerging artists an opportunity to perform in a professional setting. It also seeks to advance greater awareness of the Opera genre within the younger generation by providing a limited number of students access to its performances at no charge.
