The purpose of the National Hbcu Research Network is to promote Health Services and Health disparities Research by faculty at HBCUs focusing on African Americans and other underserved populations. This purpose is accomplished through a variety of activities that may include convening meetings to discuss pertinent issues related to the Health status, supporting collaboration among researchers and faculty, conducting and disseminating Research, establishing partnerships among HBCUs, state and federal government agencies, majority institutions, community based organizations, faith based organizations and other parties interested in reducing Health disparities and improving the Health status of African Americans and other under-served populations, facilitating access to funding that supports Research and outreach initiatives conducted by researchers and faculty members, and advocating for policies that generate funding for Research and outreach activities.
