MHP Scattered Site Inc

To provide affordable housing for low-income families. MHP Scattered Site, inc. (ssi) -- a corporation wholly controlled by montgomery housing partnership, inc. (mhp), a 501(c)(3) organization -- owns 103 Scattered Site units purchased under montgomery county, maryland's moderately priced dwelling unit (mpdu) program and 134 units in 7 small apartment buildings. Under montgomery county's mpdu program, non-profit organizations like mhp and ssi may purchase a small number of these below-market priced units, thereby preserving them as long-term affordable housing resources. Mhp and ssi rent the units to lower income families at below-market rents. The units are made affordable through their below-market cost, combined with first trust financing at below-market interest rates from local lenders and zero interest soft second trusts from montgomery county, maryland. Mhp is providing staff to both acquire and finance units owned by ssi and oversee property operations.
