American Friends of the CZECH Republic

American Friends of the CZECH Republic (afocr) is the voice of the American community supporting close & strong CZECH-u.s. Relations. We advocate for the czechs as a bulwark of freedom & democracy in central Europe, a region vital to u.s. Interests. We foster ties in the areas of diplomacy, governmental affairs, business, security, & education. Afocr was founded to advocate for CZECH admission into the north atlantic treaty organization. Since 1995, we have worked to:- sponsor visiting CZECH parliamentarians to shadow members of the u.s. Congress & meet with u.s. Government officials- help build & engage the CZECH caucus in the u.s. Congress & offer to conduct briefings for congress & the state department- meet with officials in the CZECH Republic to foster cooperation & understanding- cooperate & partner with the embassy of the CZECH Republic to the u.s. To conduct educational & commemorative events- host lectures & seminars with u.s. & CZECH political & academic leaders
