Maryland Racing Media Charitable Foundation Inc

The primary exempt purpose of the Maryland Racing Media Charitable foundation, inc. is to award college scholarships to workers on the backstretch of Maryland thoroughbred tracks and training centers and at thoroughbred farms throughout the state of Maryland. These are farm or stable hands, hot walkers, grooms and exercise riders who work long hours for little pay and sometimes at great risk alongside or on the backs of powerful thoroughbreds. The backstretch is where the thoroughbred horses that race are stabled. The foundation helps promising applicants to pursue higher education by providing financial assistance in the form of scholarships.
