At the ymca of Central Virginia, we believe a strong community can only be achieved when we invest in our kids, our health and our neighbors. That's why our association of men, women and children is committed to bring about lasting personal and social change by focusing on nurturing the potential of children, promoting healthy living and fostering social responsibility. Our policy of welcoming people of all ages, genders, ethnicities, faiths, abilities and backgrounds gives us the opportunity to serve one out of every ten people in the greater lynchburg community. Financial assistance is offered to individuals and families who cannot afford memberships and programs. We are a cause-driven organization founded and led by volunteers from our community who serve on our governing and policy making boards and as mentors, coaches and more.
