The organization is committed to preserving Burwell Cemetery and in particular the maintenance, repair and restoration of monuments, headstones and grave markers, including those of significance to the community thus promoting an appreciation of community history for the educational benefit of the general public; the preservation, beautification and maintenance of abandoned or deteriorating graves, particularly in the areas open to the public or to public view; education of the general public by gathering and disseminating information; preservation and promotion of this historical landmark in order to educate the citizens of clarke county and the public at large as to Burwell Cemetery and its place in history, together with its relationship to the rich history and diverse communities of clarke county.
