The purpose of the Club is to promote the continued health, care, safety and general well-being of the Pekingese and promote general and specific knowledge of the breed as a companion animal. The object of the Club involves providing an effective safety net for Pekingese as need arises out of situations involving private surrender or the seizure or closure of commercial mills or kennel by government authorities for cruelty or non-compliance to federal, state or local laws. In addition, all Pekingese coming into the rescue program are evaluated by a veterinarian and corrective measures recommended are provided by the veterinarian or the foster home in order to make sure each dog is given the best chance for a successful adoption.
