Edith and Theodore Pine Knot Foundation

To restore, preserve and protect the historic cottage and educate the public about president Theodore roosevelt and his history there, enhance the wilderness aspects of its 90+ acres, provide visitation, interpretation, education and facilities for, the historic "Pine Knot" site (va and federal historic landmark on cottage) and family retreat of president Theodore roosevelt and Edith roosevelt during the president's presidency. Pine Knot was a place for " rest and repairs" where president roosevelt could pursue his love of nature, wilderness and wildlife. The organization is dedicated to the preservation and education of the history and ideals of president Theodore roosevelt, his time at Pine Knot, his achievements and principles and particularly president Theodore roosevelt's incredible conservation legacy.
