Effective july 1, 2017, substantially all operations of the organization were transferred to an organizational unit of the university of north carolina at charlotte. As a result, leases between the organization and its lessors were terminated and/or transferred to the university and the lease between the organization and the university were terminated. The organization will continue to exist as a separate not-for-profit corporation, and the residual of assets over liabilities as of june 30, 2018 remained with the organization to support any entrepreneurship and innovation initiatives as directed by the university.
