The American association for Gifted Children's (AAGC) primary exempt purpose is to provide an information clearinghouse to parents of Children with unusual abilities and to health and education professionals. AAGC is also working on research on a nurturing project, bright idea: interest development early abilities, K-2 originally designed with the north carolina department of public instruction. This is a research project to close the achievement gap and was funded by a javits grant in the us department of education from 2004-2010. AAGC continues to promote the results through AAGC's website.
