EIN 57-1202673 · Snapshot of IRS recognition, filing currency, financial health, and governance.
Contribute to the long-term welfare of homeless dogs and cats, primarily old dogs (7+years old) and ill and injured dogs abandoned in shelters. This includes 1) providing direct care/sanctuary for "unadoptable" senior/special needs dogs rescued from shelters (3 during 2023), 2) encouraging adoption from shelters of senior, ill, and injured dogs by individuals, by paying for their medical care (10 during 2023), and 3) supporting other organizations actively involved in animal protection and welfare activities. Adoptions are coordinated by the shelters, and after proper application and approval the foundation makes payments for medical care for adopted dogs directly to veterinarians. Until its dissolution on 12/31/2023, the foundation has rescued, facilitated the adoption of, or otherwise provided care for over 1,500 dogs and cats since its inception in 2004. See attached statements and documents related to the dissolution and termination of private foundation status.
