Charleston Symphony Orchestra

The charleston symphony's mission is to inspire and engage our community through exceptional musical performances and educational programs. Founded in 1936 and revitalized in 2011, the charleston symphony orchestra (the symphony) is a full-time performing arts organization that annually serves more than 60,000 individuals throughout the tri-county region.the symphony operates under a distinctive artistic and financial model centered around 24 full-time core musicians. These musicians are joined by guest artists and conductors from across the country and internationally to present a diverse range of orchestral performances each season.the organization is supported by 15 full-time administrative staff and governed by a board of directors. Through performances, educational initiatives, and community engagement activities, the symphony continues its longstanding commitment to serving the charleston community.
