Historic District Development Corporation

Historic District Development corporation, inc. ("HDDC or the organization"), a Georgia nonprofit, was established in december 1980 for the purpose of strengthening the involvement of neighborhood citizens: by developing plans for the martin luther king, jr. historicdistrict; by preserving existing housing, commercial and institutional structures, and providing new housing opportunities, while preventing the displacement of existing residents; by beautifying the physical environment, while preserving the Historic character of the area; and by creating job, business, and shopping opportunities. The organization's operations are funded primarily through fees, rents, sales of homes and land, and distributions from its partnership interests. Affordable housing projects have also been organized throughvarious corporations and limited partnership/limited liability companies.
