The purpose of the Carpet Capital Collegiate Classic is to honor amateur golf as well as academic achievement. The annual golf tournament hosts the fifteen foremost Collegiate golf teams in the u.s. In addition, funds are also donated to the friendship house (a school)in dalton, Georgia. Due to the impacts of covid-19, the annual golf tournament was not held during 2021.
