To encourage the discriminate breeding of all pure bred dogs, to protect the genetic value of quality dogs, and do all possible to bring their natural qualities to perfection. To do all in its power to protect and advance the interest of all breeds by encouraging sportsmanlike competition at dog shows, agility trials, all breed shows, matches and at any other event for which the club is eligible. To urge members and breeders to accept the standards of all breeds as approved by the American Kennel Club.
