Kentucky Valley Educational Cooperative

The Kentucky Valley Educational Cooperative (KVEC) is dedicated to reshaping the Educational narrative in appalachian Kentucky along with seven other sister cooperatives across the state and their respective regions. Established in 1971 as a non-profit Educational service provider under irs code section 501(c)(3), KVEC addresses common Educational challenges by uniting school districts in Eastern Kentucky. It serves 27 member districts, each represented by their superintendent on KVEC's board of directors. KVEC is home to a special education regional technical assistance center (sertac), supported by federal idea-b funds and serving as a regional arm to the Kentucky department of education, alongside various other initiatives targeting general education improvement. KVEC collaborates with national and local partners including the Kentucky department of education, multiple colleges and universities, and the Kentucky association of Educational cooperatives, to enhance Educational outcome
