The organization's purpose is to promote and assist in maintaining truth, honesty and accuracy in advertising, selling and service practices and to help increase justified public confidence in the printed and spoken word of Business. The organization also seeks to advocate and assist in maintaining fair competition among businesses and to promote integrity in the marketplace' in the spirit of self-regulation of private Business in a free enterprise society and to inform and educate the public as to the difference between honest and legitimate advertising, selling and soliciting practices, and those which are misleading, dishonest and improper and to protect the public from being misled by persons using unfair advertising, selling or soliciting practices by all proper means, including rendering reports on request with respect to individual businesses and non-profit organizations.
