The ymca has served our community since its charter on may 24, 1895. Governed by a local non-profit board of directors, the ymca is associated with the national federation ymca of usa. The vision statement intends to put Christian principles into practice through programs that build healthy spirit, mind, & body for all. Serving all regardless of ability to pay, the ymca is committed to inclusiveness: reaching out to old & young; creating bridges between socio-economic chasms; programming healthy opportunities to the fit and yet-to-be fit; assisting families with children; providing aquatic safety; impacting anti-social and/or disruptive behavior of youth; connecting with children & adults to improve obesity rates.
