I. Bringing to Tuscaloosa nationally recognized string quartets of the highest musical quality for public performance. Ii. Promotion of string quartet performance for education institutions, for the general public, or for specific audiences. Iii. Education for the understanding and appreciation of the musical literature for the string quartet and its special performance style. Iv. Encouragement of students to learn to play stringed instruments, especially those instruments regularly required for symphony orchestras, the ballet, opera, motion pictures, television programs, and of course, string quartets.
