The Long Now Foundation is a globally-recognized champion of long-term thinking and responsibility, operating within the context of the next and last 10,000 years a timespan we call the long now. Founded as a nonprofit cultural institution in 01996 by Stewart Brand, Brian Eno, and Danny Hillis, Long Now launched with The Clock of the Long Now, a mythic, mechanical monument built to keep time for 10,000 years from deep inside a mountain.
