Ryobi Foundation

The Ryobi Foundation runs and operates the Powers Art Center, the Ryobi House, manages hundreds of acres of land under conservation easement, and works with other institutions to showcase works by artists from the esteemed collection of John and Kimiko Powers.The majority of the Foundation's charitable activities are programs and exhibits through the Powers Art Center. In 2024, the Center was open to the public year-round, with regular public hours and designated group tour days. Its programming primarily highlights the life work of Jasper Johns, while also featuring rotating exhibits of other artists from the Powers' collection. The foundation continues to acquire important works by Johns, including the recent acquisition of four limited edition works on paper. To complement the art viewings, the Center maintains an extensive library on modern art and runs educational videos. Most recently, the Foundation has embarked on an archival project documenting the history of art collecting and the relationships between John Powers and the many extraordinary artists in the collection.The Powers Art Center is free to the public and hosts field trips for elementary schools, middle schools, high schools, and the local community college. In addition to student groups, the Ryobi Foundation hosted museum and art groups from various institutions to foster collaboration and widen access to the collection. During the summer of 2024, the Foundation continued its weekly children's art program.The Ryobi Foundation also continued its successful program supporting art teachers in the Roaring Fork Valley, providing access and educational materials to schools from Grand Junction to Denver to Aspen. The museum hosted a children's art exhibit featuring work from a school in Glenwood Springs, CO.In addition to providing a world-class resource for contemporary art, the Ryobi Foundation maintains a working ranch that protects a traditional Colorado viewshed and provides conserved habitat for wildlife.
