It then evolved into a local non-profit dedicated to preserving and educating about the historical and cultural aspects of the Wimberley valley. Following much restoration work on the old house which was in decline, the original plan was to use the facility as an event venue for meetings, receptions, etc. in december 2018, the Wimberley valley museum was opened to attract visitors and provide education for understanding the history of the community.
