The foundation was established in 2001 by a group of residents of Mariner SANDS country club, inc., a residential community of approximately 770 households in stuart, Florida. Grants and interest-free loans are made to assist individuals for a variety of needs, such as legal, medical and dental expense, shelter and transportation costs, such as rent, repairs and purchase assistance, and educational costs, including tuition, books and tools. The foundation also provides advocacy and counseling endeavors at no cost, such as for immigration matters, educational opportunities, finances, medical costs and other creditor matters. It also funds from time to time instruction and materials for an english as a second language program for the employees of Mariner SANDS.
