Summit Medical Staff of Alta Bates Summit Medical Center

The organization is the organized Medical Staff" which California law (bus.& prof.c. 2282, 22ca.c.regs. 70703) requires for physicians practicing in a hospital. Its primary responsibility is oversight of the quality of care provided by members, credentialing of applicants and members, peer review of care, and representing the interest of members in relations with hospital administration and board. The remainder of activities involve educational programs presented to members or other interested persons. The programs focus on Medical matters of interest to the membership.
