The purpose of the Bistro is to address, and eliminate hunger issues in preble county, Ohio for the disadvantaged and/or low income populations. The planned activities in support of this purpose are: provide individual meals during hours of restaurant operation. Customers are served a meal regardless of their ability to pay. Those that are able to pay will be offered the opportunity to pay more than the menu price to "pay-it-forward" to support the unpaid/underpaid meals. Community meals will be scheduled on a regular basis free of charge, again with the target populations of the disadvantaged and/or low income. Job training opportunities will be available for low/no income individuals to gain job skills for work in the restaurant industry. The Bistro will only have two paid staff, a front manager and a chef. The remainder of the positions will be filled by volunteer staff.
