Government Hill Commons, an Alaska nonprofit corporation, ("GHC") is a community organization that was formed to cultivate, nurture, and enhance public spaces in the Government Hill neighborhood in Anchorage, Alaska. GHC was created on July 19, 2016. The central goal of the organization is to develop and maintain a public space, which will be known as the Government Hill Commons (the "Commons"). Initial plans for the Commons include planting a community orchard and making garden beds available for use by locals. There are additional plans to include art projects and a gathering space. The Commons are intended to be a focal point of the neighborhood, uniting the east and west portions of the community and serving as a gateway to people entering Government Hill.
