Uvalde Welfare and Recreation Association

Uvalde Welfare and Recreation is an exempt organization composed of a volunteer board of directors who are also all Uvalde border patrol agents and give back to the community through scholarships. The scholarship funds awarded to area students are raised by the organization's two annual golf tournaments. Scholarships are awarded to high school students who apply. This application consists of a one page essay where the applicants explain how the candidate would benefit from the scholarship. The board reviews the applications and makes selections based on certain criteria.
