OFF-Kendrik is an independent non-profit 501c(3) organization and a thriving platform for Bengali/South Asian American theater in the greater Boston area. Our journey began more than fifteen years ago with a creative urge to express the immigrant experience through theater. It all started with a nostalgia-themed play, 'Bijoner Chayer Cabin' (Bijon's Tea Cabin), and has since evolved into a dedicated platform for showcasing high-quality Bengali theater. We remain committed to creating original plays and reimagining existing literature to address the rapidly changing world around us, whether in the United States or India. OFF-Kendrik's productions offer a unique window into the hearts and minds of the South Asian immigrant community. In 2016, we introduced 'VOICES,' a storytelling segment that encourages broader community participation, sparking dialogues about dreams, aspirations, and the search for identity.
