Active Cultures

Active Cultures is an la-based arts organization exploring the confluence of food and art through artist projects, public programs, and publishing. Food and foodways provide a window onto our most fundamental beliefs about cultural expression, equity, and social justice, environmental sustainability, and ourselves. We believe that by nurturing vital collaborations between artists, food practitioners, and their communities, we can illuminate culture and feed artistic practice simultaneously, to build stronger connections of empathy, curiosity, and care among us all.
