To extend and uphold the principles of merit and fitness in public employment, to promote efficiency in public service and to advance generally the interests of the members of the SAG Harbor Benevolent association, inc. to foster, create and promote better social, fraternal and Benevolent feeling among the members of the corporation. To assist financially the members of the SAG Harbor Village Police department in time of sickneess, to provide financial relief upon the death of an active member to his beneficiary; to promote and develop a friendly and fraternal spirit among all of the members of the SAG Harbor Village Police department; to accept dues from its active members of the community in order to advance the general interests of the corporation. To engage in collective bargaining and to protect the interest of its members in relateion to the regulation of wages, hours, working conditions, grievances or employer/employee relationships in any form or manner.
