Alpine Avalanche Rescue Foundation

Alpine Avalanche Rescue Foundation main purpose is to promote snow safety and Avalanche awareness to the Tahoe Basin community and the professionals in the field. We give scholarships for Avalanche awareness classes, teaching participants how to travel safely in the backcountry and how to read and understand the snow layering and how to find instability in the snow pack. We also give scholarships to dogs and handlers who go to professional dog training for search and Rescue. As well as scholarships for advancing professional medical care related to search and Rescue.
