We give private music lessons and classes to students, especially children, in our area. We then afford these students opportunities to perform in public to share their music with the community, friends, and family. This year we have started a more aggressive approach to seeking students who cannot afford lessons and have reached out to schools, local organizations like the youth center in Olympia, WA, as well as posted signs up at our mall location. We have a goal of signing on a large number of new students this year who will get large discounts for their lessons while still being able to participate in our activities and performances. Central to our work is that music is more than just an academic experience or cerebral, but it is communal and social. It is very human and so we strive to be able to bring that to everyone we can, regardless of their ability to pay.
