The foundation will both lessen the burdens of government and provide relief for the distressed community of civilian government employees and military veterans and their families by providing that community with respite opportunities and behavioral health programming. The strain of repeated deployments and redeployments on the family of a government employee and military veteran can be severe. History and science have shown that the opportunity for the government employee and military veteran and family to reintegrate on neutral ground - outside the home - can have powerful healing effect. The Tanglewood foundation will provide lodging required for this reintegration. Further, it will multiply this positive effect through offering civilian government employees and military veterans and family members opportunities to learn how to care for horses, training in horsemanship, family counseling, and behavioral health training.
