Eastern Shore Scholastic CHESS Association Inc

Eastern Shore Scholastic CHESS, inc. (essc) is a 501(c)(3) with the mission to help public schools and other youth serving organizations outside of the public school system establish federal, local and community supported CHESS clubs. Current projects are with the accomack county public schools on the Eastern Shore of Virginia and well as local surrounding youth organizations outside of the public school system. The acps and local youth serving organizations have recognized the academic and social benefits of CHESS to the child, and the consistency of the life-skills learned in CHESS with both stem and Virginia employment readiness skills educational objectives. In areas such as within the acps, distant from other CHESS programs, both local interscholastic competitions and on-line competitions with schools and individual students from around the world become possible for the first time.
