Ghana Beyond Subsistence (GBS) plans and implements Guided Immersion Experiences for US teachers and others where we collaborate with Ghanaian teachers, farmers, trades, traditional, religious, and elected municipal leaders, including Ghana Educational Service, for mutual growth and development. GBS seeks to build and develop long-term relationships. To make this experience affordable, teachers receive a subsidy for their in-country expenses. They study Ghanaian life and culture so that they can share with their US students. They also collaborate in the schools, in project based learning and other teaching-learning methods. Other travelers engage in agriculture and health activities. GBS works with farmers, traders, teachers and students to develop relationships for mutual growth and benefit.
