Friends of Harriet L Hartley Conservation Area

The purpose of the coporation is to advocate for the health and preservation of the midcoast maine coastline, rivers and coastal watersheds - in particular the little river and its adjacent intertidal estuary in penobscot bay - through science, education and providing assistance, including the financial assistance for litigation purposes, to those seeking to protect and preserve the Harriet l. Hartley Conservation Area from actions deemed detrimental to this fragile intertidal estuary in its natural condition. It is a further purpose to restore the little river as a natural fishway. Friends of the Harriet l. Hartley Conservation Area is organized and operated exclusively for educational and scientific purposes in accordance with section 501(c)(3) for the internal revenue code or corresponding section of any future federal tax code.
