Looma Education Corporation

LEC creates technologies to improve lives in developing countries. It is now developing and installing Looma, a solar-powered, interactive educational a/v system to supplement the curriculum in Nepal's public schools which often lack power, Internet, trained teachers, and sufficient funds to adequately support the public program. Looma contains the entire Nepalese curriculum, integrated with a massive library of selected open-source materials, and enhanced with gamified reviews. The goal is that this system will be adopted by the Nepalese government and its donors, become a standard classroom tool for many of Nepal's 26,000 public schools, and perhaps be adopted by other countries as well.
