The purpose of SOWGF is to assist members of the Special Operations Forces of the U.S. Military who were wounded injured or are suffering from illnesses acquired while serving our country in their recovery rehabilitation and transition to civilian life. SOWGF provides a therapeutic networking program that connects the warriors with medical and therapeutic services and career transition assistance in a retreat format utilizing golf and its healing power as its core activity. Each retreat is held at a golf venue has 6-10 participating wounded warriors and last for 5-7 days. SOWGF puts a particular emphasis on career transition by using benefactors from the business sector to sponsor and mentor each participating Warrior. Physical and behavioral health professionals will be on site to provide short term therapy and assessment resulting in a long- term plan for post retreat care for each participating SOF Warrior.
