Autism is a severe mental disability that is a very big challenge for children affected and their families (who are the main caregivers). In India, like most developing countries, the disability is not understood well socially and medically. The government provides very limited help and private resources are scarce. Especially in rural India, very few facilities and caregivers are left with the entire burden of caring for their children their entire life. In light of the pandemic, India has been left in a very challenging position, with many still unable to leave their houses and get the proper support they need. Now more than ever, it is important we help as many children with special needs as possible as there are minimal resources being provided to them. Our organization aims to help provide food, shelter, clothing, and tablets to provide these children with the proper services they need, along with technology to help them learn and stay engaged.
