Started on October 1 2023 the TAQASI Project sought to train a total of 25 Jordanian journalists on detecting and identifying as well as countering and fact-checking fake news disseminated in and about Jordan. The TAQASI Project contracted two senior trainers to CO-design and CO-facilitate five 5 training workshops which were held between February 7 - 17 2024. The workshops convened 36 trainees for the first workshop; 38 for the second; 33 for the third; 38 for the fourth; and 36 for the fifth workshop. The workshops were supported by a total of nine 9 guest speakers featuring media experts media regulatory former officials legal advisors and investigative journalists among others - adding depth to the discussions and offering the trainees an unmatched opportunity to learn and network with industry leaders with vast expertise.
