TYLER Street Team

The goal of TYLER Street Team is to provide emergency care for the homeless onlocation. It will provide ongoing and emergency services through volunteers to thehomeless population in TYLER, Texas including: connecting the homeless to socialservices; assistance with obtaining Texas id card, social security number andother administrative requirements needed to begin the transition fromhomelessness; provide transportation to emergency shelter and social services;provision of emergency shelter; and connecting homeless individuals to medicalservices. The goal is to fill gaps in social services for the homeless andcoordinate with other service providers to meet their needs. Also, increaseawareness in the general public of the needs for the homeless community.volunteers will be providing driving through the community on a daily basis toassess and determine how best to meet the needs of the homeless population intyler.
