IDrone 101 provided STEM education to students in grades 6 through 12 through hands-on learning in emerging technologies, including drones, coding, robotics, and unmanned aerail systems (UAS). Through the Interstate Drone League (iDrone), participants build small drones from scratch and engage in coding exercises using Arduino, Python IDE, and MIT Scratch to learn fundamental concepts in automatic control, robotics, and UAS technology. The program also features presentations by local professionals who demonstrate real-world applications of these technologies. In addition, iDrone develops educational curriculum and evaluates program effectiveness to strengthen STEM learning pathways across States. Program activities are delivered through in-person workshops and live-streamed Zoom sessions.
