In Fiscal Year 2024, Spaces of Opportunity was awarded the LPAZ (Local Purchase of Arizona) grant for the first time, receiving a total of $29,750 through the Purchase Local Food Agreement program. This funding allowed us to host over 24 produce distributions, providing more than 30 fresh, locally grown produce bags at each event. What made this especially impactful was that we were able to purchase exclusively from the farmers growing at Spaces, strengthening our local food system. The program was particularly helpful during the summer months when the farmers market was closed, ensuring continued support for our growers and consistent access to fresh food for the community.
