Society of Nineteenth Century Historians Inc

The purpose of the Society is to advance and promote Nineteenth Century historical studies throught the encouragement of research, teaching, presentation of findings, and publication; the collection and preservation of historical documents and artifacts; the dissemination of historical records and information; the broadcasting of historical knowledge among the general public; the pursuit of kindred activities in the interest of histsory; and to support and perpetuate the annual Symposium on the Nineteenth Century Press, the Civil War and Free Expression.
