Skookum Educational Programs

Effective july 1st of 2024, Skookum merged with spokane, Washington based skils'kin. On that date, Skookum became the single member of the skils'kin 501c3 coporation, with the intent to fully merge the companies in 2025. Skils'kin, like Skookum, exists for the social purpose of creating careers of choice for people with disabilities. Upon time of the merger, skils'kin operated abilityone contracts at malmstrom afb, warren afb and fairchild afb, and at various federal facilities in spokane county. Additionally, skils'kin excelled at community supported employment in spokane, particulary pre-employment transition services (pre-ets). In the latter half of 2024, the combined Skookum - skils'kin team worked to export these servivces from Eastern to Western Washington. In late 2024, Skookum launched an initiative to create opportunity for people with disabilities to enter the workforce through technical training Programs designed around the trades, in particular, the building trades.
