The foundation was established in memory of Rick Pankow who was a devoted nurseryman and golfer who passed away october 24, 2001, who died of non- hodgkin's Lymphoma. The purpose of the foundation is to: 1.provide financial support to families who have incurred substantial uninsured medical expenses and/or incurred substantial costs while caring for a medical patient being treated away from home (e.g. Travel, lodging, and meals). The foundation will provide support to families referred by medical treatment organizations such as fred hutchinson cancer research center and the university of Washington. Support will be provided predominantly to families receiving treatment or living in the Seattle metropolitan area. 2.provide financial support for students employed in the nursery of landscaping industry in need of funds to complete their college or technical education. 3.provide support to local or national charities and individuals as deemed appropriate by the officers of the foundation.
