The primary exempt status is to Rescue abused/neglected horses from kill pens designed to transport them to Horse slaughterhouses in Mexico & Canada. Our organization purchases these horses, provides them medical care, farrier work, feed and water, and finds them safe, permanent homes. Our Rescue has an extensive adoption application and vetting process so that these horses will not end up in kill pens again. We educate the public as to the condition of these horses through various media and we ask for donations to feed, house and provide medical care, hoof care and housing for them. We operate solely with donations from the public and grants. This year we rescued 2 mini horses from a kill pen in North Carolina via a donkey Rescue in Kentucky. These 2 minis were emaciated, unhandled and extremely ill. Through our efforts both minis have received the medical attention, hoof care, & socialization to make them good candidates for adoption.
