Albuquerque Punk Safety Initiative

The Albuquerque Punk Safety Initiative is rooted in mutual aid trust and community safety We provide harm reduction materials education and support tailored to people who use drugs in Albuquerques DIY music scene grounded in the belief that everyone deserves access to care and the dignity to make their own choices In 2025 ABQ Psi focused on grassroots outreach and education We conducted outreach at 810 DIY shows raves and community events monthly hosted three training sessions each month and distributed self-published zines on safer drug use naloxone and substances common in the scene ABQ Psi is a trusted resource for nightlife communities and New Mexico youth In 2025 we distributed 806 naloxone doses 2000 fentanyl test strips 600 xylazine test strips 300 boxes of emergency contraceptive and 500 safer use kits contributing to 30 confirmed overdose reversals
