Hug patrol is a direct charitable activity of the Shapira foundation. We donate new stuffed animals to police and fire departments and medical organizations for police officers, firefighters, and medical personnel to give to children in crisis. The goal of hug patrol is to provide emergency responders throughout the nation with a supply of new, unused stuffed animals to help ease the pain and fear of children in traumatizing situations. Through december 2024, we have purchased 7,359 stuffed animals. Distributions started in 2015, and we were able to distribute 6,646 stuffed animals from 2015 through 2024. Donations from the public or other organizations are welcome. We purchase highest quality, new stuffed animals for this program. We will work directly with fire, police and medical organizations to fulfill their needs regarding size and packaging for stuffed animals.
